Frequently asked questions

What ages do you serve?

We support infants through teens, along with parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals seeking guidance.

Do you accept insurance?

ACS Collaborative is a private-pay practice and does not currently accept insurance.

We accept HSA/FSA cards through Stripe. Please note that HSA/FSA eligibility is determined by your individual plan administrator.

What does neurodivergent-affirming care mean?

Neurodivergent-affirming care respects differences in how people think, communicate, regulate, learn, and experience the world.

Our approach focuses on strengths, meaningful participation, and practical support rather than trying to make a child appear more typical.

What happens during an occupational therapy evaluation?

An evaluation may include a caregiver interview, observation, play-based activities, and functional assessments.

Afterward, you will receive a clear summary of findings, recommendations, and next steps tailored to your child and family.

How often will my child need therapy?

Frequency depends on your child’s goals, needs, and family schedule.

Some families begin with weekly or every-other-week sessions, while others may benefit from a different schedule. Recommendations can change over time as needs and progress evolve.

Do you work with schools?

Yes. We collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school teams to help support consistency across settings.

We can also provide preparation and support for Individualized Education Program and 504 meetings.

Can parents or caregivers attend sessions?

Yes. Caregiver participation is encouraged.

When families understand the strategies being used, it becomes easier to carry them into home, school, and community routines.

What is coaching, and how is it different from occupational therapy?

Coaching is designed for parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals. It focuses on education, problem-solving, and practical strategies they can use in everyday situations.

Occupational therapy involves direct evaluation or therapeutic support for the child or individual.
